The Mother Wound by Kylie McBeath

The patriarchy wound doesn't escape anyone on this planet. No matter how you self-identify, this social system has *created massive splits* for each of us internally. I've not only been researching the threads of this wound for the last 2 years, but I have been living inside of it.

At first I was directing all of my anger/grief (unprocessed emotional trauma) at my own mother. **staying here in this inter-generational trauma loop keeps us stuck**

Our anger/grief at being shackled to this limited and inaccurate depiction of women and the ways we’ve expressed this pain from mother to daughter is valid...but guess what?

She's not the root cause of this pain. This doesn’t mean taking responsibility for how it has manifested isn’t necessary...it is. And...feeling this level of grief/rage is no joke.

The current system we live in and have lived in, is the root cause of this split. The one that places women beneath men — from the garden to the grave. The one that burned wise women, and muzzled the rest. The one that limited our roles to mother and lover. The one that honors and reveres the masculine and degrades the feminine (in us all). The one that disconnects us from our essence, and each other. I get fired up when I talk about this because....I see how deep and subtle these layers of oppression and feelings of inadequacy/fear go. When we heal this wound we go deeper into the truth -- the truth of our inherent power -- our ability to go beyond literalism and rational (left-brained logic). Our ability to come home to the feminine soul...and the divine feminine within us all. To come home to the wild, wise one within. To love in the way we know we are capable of loving. To imagine a world that is in alignment with the all.

When we heal this wound within ourselves by shutting down our own internalized toxic patriarchal voice, and create a container for our feminine essence to rise -- our soul to awaken -- we become the ones we've been waiting for. #beingisbeautiful
